Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cubed
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Add paneer cubes, mix well to coat, and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill or oven to 200°C (392°F). Thread the marinated paneer cubes onto skewers and grill for 10-12 minutes until golden, turning occasionally.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Stir in tomato puree, tomato paste, coriander powder, paprika, and cook until the oil starts to separate from the sauce.
- Add grilled paneer to the pan, stirring to coat well with the sauce.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in heavy cream. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle kasuri methi and chopped cilantro over the top before serving.
- Serve hot with naan or basmati rice.
