- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt to make the marinade.
- Add paneer cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or a pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush with oil and grill the marinated paneer pieces until they are lightly charred on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the tomato puree, coriander powder, and Kashmiri chili powder. Cook for about 10-12 minutes until the oil separates from the tomato mixture.
- Add grilled paneer to the sauce and pour in the heavy cream. Gently mix to combine and simmer for another 8-10 minutes.
- Add kasuri methi by crushing it between your palms for enhanced flavor. Adjust salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
