Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- 100ml fresh cream
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt to form a marinade.
- Add paneer cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a grill pan and lightly oil it. Grill the marinated paneer cubes until golden on all sides. Set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate.
- Add coriander powder, salt, and water as necessary, and cook until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Add the grilled paneer cubes and mix gently.
- Stir in the fresh cream and kasuri methi. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
