Ingredients
- 500g paneer, cubed
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, sliced
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, and salt.
- Add the paneer cubes to this marinade, ensuring they are well-coated, and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the marinated paneer and cook until golden on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil and sauté the chopped onions until they turn golden brown.
- Add the sliced green chilies and the tomato puree. Cook until the tomato puree thickens and releases oil from the sides.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Add the cooked paneer and dried fenugreek leaves.
- Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the paneer is heated through and the flavors meld together.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
