Ingredients
- 200g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mixed herbs (such as thyme, basil, and oregano)
Instructions
- Start by cooking the rice. In a pot, add 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water, a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are browned, about 3 minutes.
- Add the beef slices to the skillet, and sear for 2-3 minutes, then add soy sauce, oyster sauce, teriyaki sauce, and rice vinegar.
- Stirring constantly, add 1 tablespoon of flour to thicken the sauce slightly. Lower the heat to ensure it doesn't burn.
- In another small pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and scramble the eggs, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
- Once the rice is done, mix it with the milk, scrambled eggs, minced herbs, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Heat through until the milk is absorbed and rice is fluffy.
- Serve the beef stir-fry alongside the garlic herb rice for a flavorful dinner experience.
